The Best Skill For Digital Creators

online business Nov 04, 2024

There’s one skill that will make you financially free.

It’s not coding.

It’s not branding.

It’s not even writing.

It’s the skill that made Andrew Tate the most googled man on the planet.

And it’s how many other influencers turn their viewers into fans.

The skill I’m talking about is persuasion.

Persuasive communication allows you to:

  • Change lives
  • Turn followers into fans
  • Sell products and services
  • Build a large audience online
  • Create content that makes an impact

These are just some of the benefits.

There’s much more to it.

Why Persuasion Works

Humans are emotional, not logical.

They act with emotion and then rationalize with logic.

People don’t remember what you say, they remember how you make them feel.

Persuasive communication is how you make them feel a certain way.

It’s incredibly powerful so use it to do good in the world.

Blair Warren said it best in his book ‘The One Sentence Persuasion Course’:

“People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies."

Persuading With Stories

Humans are wired for stories.

It’s how we shared lessons around campfires in the past.

So the best way to educate people is to tell them a story.

Show them how you transformed.

This will:

  • Inspire
  • Educate
  • Entertain

All 3 goals of content creation.

People like Alex Hormozi and Andrew Tate constantly tell stories.

They know that this is how people learn … and buy.

People crave human connection.

And telling stories is the best way to give this to strangers via the internet.

  • Stories inspire people because you show how you’ve made a transformation they want to make.
  • Stories educate people because you show how you’ve made this transformation.
  • Stories entertain people because everyone loves a good story.

Share your story.

Polarizing

Polarizing is how you turn followers into fans.

You take a statement to the extreme so people must agree or disagree with it.

Andrew Tate is a perfect example.

Ever noticed how he seemed to have a strong opinion on everything he talks about?

This is because he knows the power of polarizing.

Polarizing statements make people strongly agree or disagree - and both of these things make people want to leave a comment.

Strongly agreeing or disagreeing makes it so that people respond, like, and share the content.

This is why he went viral.

He makes statements that people can only agree or disagree with.

The people who agree will love him and those who disagree will hate him.

People either think ‘finally, someone said it!’ or ‘how can you possibly say that?!’.

You don’t need to take it as far as Tate, but you would benefit from polarizing a bit on topics you feel strongly about.

Nobody loves boring vanilla creators because they don’t evoke any emotions.

But polarizing creators do.

And remember: people don’t remember what you said, but they always remember how you made them feel.

So be authentically polarizing.

Influence

People are constantly looking for ways to improve the subjective experience of their lives.

So you need to show how your content, products, or services help them improve their day-to-day life.

You do this with a persuasive argument.

There are 6 building blocks for a persuasive argument that are mentioned in Robert Cialdini’s book ‘Influence’.

  1. Reciprocity. People want to give back after receiving.
  2. Scarcity. People don’t want to miss out.
  3. Authority. People trust authoritative figures more.
  4. Commitment / Consistency. People feel obligated to follow through with their word.
  5. Liking. People trust people they like more.
  6. Consensus / Social Proof. People want to see proof that something can help them.

So to persuade people:

  • Polarize
  • Tell stories
  • Use social proof
  • Be a likable person
  • Give them free value
  • Become an authority
  • Use consistency bias
  • Make your offer scarce

Stay authentic to who you are, but use these principles to become a more persuasive version of yourself.

If your message is good, persuasion will make it even better.

It’s a tool, so use it wisely.
